The flavor of the food isn't bad at all, but be ware of the grease. The large I ordered had to be one of the greasiest pizzas I had ever eaten. Heartburn city if you know what I mean. On a good note, the calzones are wonderful. I'd put it among one of the best I've eaten. Still a little greasy, but nowhere near as bad as the pizza.

I can totally picture this in NYC. Sleeping with Jannus Landing in the heart of Downtown St. Pete, this tiny pizzeria can be easily overlooked if not for the constant vigilance of people eating at its counter and outside tables as well as a sign boasting a 4.99 lunch special (two slices and a drink). THE PIZZA? The smell inside is pure pizza (also serves calzones, sandwiches, salads) with toppings costing extra. No need-- the cheese alone is a transubstantiation of a pizza god on earth. My big slices always bleed oil and pizza juices. The cheese melts in your mouth and isn't tough to chew. Although very thin, the crust is crispy-- but not to the point of splintering your lips. Pepperoni-- no doubt good. Another Joey Brooklyn's favorite topping-- roma tomato and basil-- the basil smell cut through the sauce and added subtle layers of flavor, but the tomato got lost in flavors and only added to texture. For what you pay, that's a big delicious slice (especially when you consider the Downtown St. Pete lunch options). The workers ooze friendliness, smiles and are eager to help. Another mild complaint was wondering why my arm was sticking to the counter.

In town on business, I ordered from here because it was nearby, relatively inexpensive and they delivered. I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I ordered from the other items on their menu. Started with a small Caesar salad. Then had the chicken parm with penne pasta. There was a bit too much sauce in the delivery container and a bit too much cheese on top for my liking. The only thing I was really disappointed with was the 'garlic knots'. They were just dinner rolls that had been brushed with garlic and some olive oil or butter. The food was average Italian food. The portions were significant (I had leftovers). While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

This place is great ! NY style pizza but not too greesy ... And great crust! Sauce is good and you can buy a whole pie or just a slice! They are open late so after the clubs I head here for my late night snack! Great!

Decent slice of pizza. However no pizza place in NY leaves a slice on the rock for that long so that you cant even hold it when you finally get it in your hands. Service is lacking in this place; one guy I am sure thinks he is from Brooklyn however I'm not buying it; I am buying that he needs to change his attitude. Food wise it is good; crust has a decent amount of crisp and chewiness. All the ingredients do seem to be up to snuff as well (not like some of the other reviews). 3 stars only because of that one guy who works in the shop. If he was not there then maybe 4.

My boyfriend got food poisoning from this place....do NOT EAT HERE!! We thought we would try it again, but this time we waited 30 minutes in line and a drunk girl showing her tits pushed and cut in front of everyone and actually tried to order a pizza. When I told her to go to the back of the line, the employee at the window kicked me out and served her in front of everyone waiting. We patronize downtown St. Pete regularly and we love many of the businesses there, but we will NEVER patronize this unprofessional business ever again. Two strikes. No more chances. They think they can treat people disrespectfully because of the location, but they are sadly mistaken. Just a tip. Treat the regular patrons well and you might stay in business. We know many high level people in St. Pete. You just made a huge mistake.

Yes, NY style pizza! Walk up window, quick service, and pleasant staff. I'll be honest, I came here after a night of drinking and it was semi early, around midnight. Plus it was a Thursday night so there wasn't as much activity like the 3:00 am crowd on a Friday and Saturday. I know better to battle for pizza at those times. I was greeted with a smile and I ordered two slices of pepperoni to go. I received it hot and very fast with a box, which made it easy for me carry. One slice was for me and the other for my friend. I ate mine when I got home. The slice was very good, just what I would expect from a NY style pizza place. It was not too greasy and the crust had the right amount of thinness. If the timing is right, I'll definitely hit it up again!

I actually order from here quite regularly (about once a week) and have always been quite pleased with each experience. Their ratio of sauce, cheese and crust is almost perfect. Being from NY and living primarily on pizza growing up, theirs reminds me of home. I would suggest ordering a pie rather than by the slice. Their lunch special is a good deal, but it just tastes so much better fresh from the oven, not quickly reheated. Thumbs up to their service as well. For delivery, they arrive quickly, and I've never received a cold pie.

  • Tommy L.

I'd put those pizza slices up against anything I've ever had. Nice feel in the joint. Great lunch special...shocked there wasn't a line out the door!

This place is delicious. I have made a Joey Brooklyn's believer out of numerous people. When I'm out drinking on Central Ave, I always seem to find myself at this little pizza joint. This place is counter service with a couple patio tables and a few bar stools. I pretty much stick with slices but they do offer whole pizzas and the standard Italian fare of baked pastas, calzones, and salads. They have a bunch of toppings- some of my favorites being spinach, ricotta, meatball, and garlic. For drinks they have a couple canned sodas, water, and a few basic domestic beers. They make everything fresh to order. I respect the staff's no bs attitude as they don't take any flack from the drunken masses. They offer delivery and are open everyday from 11am to 3am. What could be better?

I went late night and had a slice of pepperoni (only cheese and pepperoni available late night). It was cash only. The man who appeared to be the manager was rude, and the pizza was okay I suppose.

  • Thuyen B.

Hot, fast and good pizza. Looks like a take it and go kinda place as there is not a lot of seating options available except for a few spaces at the window and a couple of tables outside. Grabbed a slice for our son and sat outside. Piping hot and greasy pizza. Like, really hot. We had to actually let it cool down for a few minutes before he could eat it. Yum! It looked really good (I stole a bite!). The pepperoni to pizza ratio was perfect.

I've been here a few times with different folks after a night out they always agree it was a good call. The service is great and the pizza is awesome. What more can you ask for?

So I've ventured back into Joey Brooklyn's the other night since I had a hankering for pizza and I prefer their pizza over the other pizza that's near by. I was a little hesitant since my pizza was subpar at my last visit. Thankfully this time my pizza was delicious. It was so good, I even thought about getting another slice but had to refrain since my tummy wouldn't allow it. I ended up getting smoked gouda, tomato and basil,it was heavenly. The crust had a great crunch, the cheese was nice gooey and the basil added great flavor. Woohoo they hit it out of the ball park, this might be my go to slice from now on. As always, the staff were friendly and efficient. They even helped a customer that was in need, they went above and beyond which is nice to see. So if you're looking for a great slice of pizza served by an awesome staff, this is the place to go. I've been back 2 or 3 times since and the smoked gouda, tomato, basil pizza is the pizza to order.

I love this place for lunch, dinner, and my 2am late night dinner. You can eat either outside or inside. People are pretty chill here too

Best pizza in Downtown St Pete conveniently located next to all the bars and clubs and open late til 2AM. Late night they only give you 2 options- cheese or pepperoni but during the day ya can make your own pizza with whatever toppings youd like. This is a very small establishment with a counter facing the outside window and chairs and tables outside on the street. You place your order at the register and pick it up when they call your name. There is no table service or alcohol. I got the pepperoni and double spinach veggie pizza slices for $6. They got a deal for 2 pepperoni and a drink for $5 but it doesn't apply to specialty pizzas. Both pizza slices were really tasty, hot, and crisp. They have great extra seasonings to put on like Italian, garlic, Parmesan, hot peppers. Service was fast and friendly. I dont think they were running air conditioning inside because it was hot! Will be coming back again! Thanks!

On Point!! New York style pizza at its best! If you like that thin crust traditional pizza this is your place! They had Sicilian style also...looked Great!!!

Come in as a wanderer, leave as a spoiled tourist. They sell slices how you want them & will go half n half for whatever suits you. Beers while you wait. Eat it!

I work downtown and I ordered a Specialty "The Bomb" Pie for lunch earlier this week. The amount of cheese was too much for my liking so next time I'll go light on it. I omitted the chicken and replaced it with roma tomatoes. The crust..perfect! If you order a Specialty pie, be sure to print their coupon for a free house salad or garlic knots on-line. Let me tell you, the balsamic dressing is the best I have ever had. I could drink it. I have not been here late-night so I can't comment on the pizza or service. However, lunch time was great. The person ringing me up was kind and friendly. I will return for sure!

Before downtown St. Pete transformed into its current incarnation of having the most bars per square feet of any city around, this little storefront turned out the best pizza slices downtown. No more. Now, the product is little more than a napkin for soaking up the booze you consumed at any of the nearby watering holes. I don't know what happened. The slices are lame. Bad dough. Bad sauce. Bad cheese. And they are never ready, even when there's a late night line. You end up standing there for 30 minutes to get your slice of crap. Fortunatos around the corner has much better pizza, but doesn't stay open late. I guess they don't want to bother with the drunks. There's an opportunity for a great slice place in downtown St. Pete. This isn't it.

I was craving some good pizza for a few days. This hit the spot. Pretty good pizza. Compared to the pizza in CA this is amazing. I grew up in the Philly area and have family in NYC so I really miss a good slice. If we are in the area again and in the mood I will be going back.

  • Marinda H.

Cheap, fast, and good (all the 3's)! Lunch special: 2 huge cheese slices + a drink for $5. Pizza was hot and fresh with a great crust and the drink was a can of pop or bottled water (no cheap fountain drink - rockon!) Not much in the way of seating (couple tables out front) but everyone there was very friendly. Great place for a quick slice!

    (4)
  • Amy Z.

Open until 3:30 AM. Pizza totally hit the spot after a night of drinking!!!

  • Dave M.

Great little pizza place. They have good toppings, huge pizzas and a I've never had bad deliver service. They are more of a take out or deliver place, but they do have chairs outside. There just isn't a whole lot of room. If you live downtown, you owe it to yourself to get a pie and walk it home. You will enjoy it.

BEST PIZZA EVER!!' A great sense of customer service that goes above and beyond. Not to mention, great food and a great manager, BILLY RAY (the man) !!!

This is greasy yummy pizza at a fair price.it's the place to go for good basic pizza pairs well with beer. It's not the place to go for deluxe pizza. The staff is friendly too.it's also conveniently located next to St. Pete's watering holes.

I am new to the area, having driven my car over 3,000 miles to get here- my car needed to be kept overnight at the shop thus leaving me stranded in a new place with no food- so I decided to contact joeys since I had been told they deliver and are delicious- I gave them my address which is just under 2 miles from them & they told me that I was outside of their delivery range. Less than 2 miles? Really? I guess I will be bringing my extensive business elsewhere, it's their loss.

The Setting: 3:05am on a Friday, Saturday night The Place: dtown St. Pete The Conflict: You've had way to many libations and you want pizza. The options: Joey Brooklyn's, Fortunato's, mikes taps or certain death The answer: what block are you on? Wait ur not sure? Ok well ask someone where Joey Brooklyn's is at and go there........preferably not a cop. The Resolution: waking up at 8am laid horizontally on ur bed still dressed in last nights clothes........real quick check ur shirt. Does it have pizza sauce on it? Yup? Ok you went to Joey Brooklyn's

Being from Brooklyn I had to stop in and have a pizza. I'll say it was pretty good. Ordered a large cheese its was delicious. I recommend it. 5 stars

    (5)
  • Maarten M.

It is exactly what you should expect. A thin crust pizza. A good amount of cheese. Which makes it al little bit greasy but that is just what happens. Service was good, the guy taking our order even notified us that we could get a better deal. At the end of the lunch I'm full so I would say this is a good place.

Can't speak for their single slices but this place has the best delivery pizza downtown. Always fresh, really freaking good authentic brooklyn style pizza and they deliver very late. Love them!

    (5)
  • Yana W.

Excellent! By far, the best pizza in downtown St Pete. My friends and I always go there if we are hanging out in the area. Reasonably priced and most of all, delicious. My favorite thing about this place is that you get to choose your own toppings, even if buying a slice (hint: mushrooms take forever to cook, so it's best not to order those on a slice). You don't get to see those sad pizzas seating in the window for goodness knows how long, but you get to have a freshly made, personalized piece. Pepperoni and cheese are the quickest ones, if in the hurry. They are also open late, so if you are done with pubs and clubs in the area, this is your best bet. I have also ordered a whole pizza for carry out. Warning, they are very filling! The crust is thin, but the toppings are very generous. Unless you have a large group, don't go for the 18 inch, you won't finish it.

    (5)
  • Michael G.

The best slice of pie south of Brooklyn, and north of Ft. Myers (Downtown House of Pizza).

    (4)
  • Marie L.

Awful. Overpriced. Rude service. The fact I realized that, at 3 am, after several hours of drinking, would make me absolutely frightened to try this place sober.

    (2)
  • Paul M.

OMG, we had delivery while staying at the Hilton in downtown St. Pete. We are originally from NYC--we know pizza. Stay away! This pizza was worse than--dare I say it--Pizza Hut--AND I NEVER HAD PIZZA HUT! Absolutely raw, pure white on the bottom. unreal how any pizza maker would take this out of the oven for human consumption.

    (1)
  • Amanda S.

Small place. Looking for something quick as we were on our way to the museum. The owner or someone else in charge was reprimanding another employee in the presence of myself and customers which made for an awkward situation. Perhaps that's how things are done in NY but it made me want to wait outside! We had two of the specials (pepperoni and Hawaiian) and our slices were piping hot. The cheese was just how I like it, gooey goodness. Overall, it was pretty good pizza.

    (3)
  • Michael Z.

Having sampled the pies here on two occasions I can say with certainty that they are neither from Brooklyn nor Famous. The taste was unremarkable and the dough was too chewy - a NY slice is big enough to fold, but it has a crunchy crust on the bottom. With so many other places in the area to choose from, I would definitely not go out of my way to eat here. The only saving grace is that it is located near many of the bars and clubs open late in downtown St. Pete, so if you are hungry at 2AM they should be able to hold you over.

    (2)
  • Sam M.

This place is a disgrace to pizza and I highly doubt that this place models itself after pies you find in Brooklyn. I seriously should have went to Pizza Hut because if I'm eating crap I at least want it to taste slightly good. They serve the barely edible kind of pizza that only a drunk college student would love - because he/she is drunk and anything tastes good. I ordered a slice of cheese and pepperoni from a guy who didn't understand that you have to wear gloves when touching cash them my food. My pepperoni slice was a slice of hot garbage. Let's take cold pepperoni slices and put it on a slice of cheese pizza, heat it for 3 min and serve it? WTF? How about a fresh pie that didn't look like you threw a couple of Hormel pepperoni slices on it and cooked it in a toaster oven? How about making a real pie that doesn't look like it was made in your sister's EZ Bake oven? On top of that, they have a wall of celebrity autographs that weren't taken in their restaurant! You can't roll a turd in glitter and tell people this is pizza.

This NY kid went there once and that's all I needed! This ain't no pizza from Brooklyn!

    (1)
  • Mathew S.

If I want pizza, this is where I go. Anyone from around New York will say the south doesn't have good pizza and that is relatively true, but this place serves a large pie that is a close as you can expect come. If you want fine/fancy Italian, then go somewhere else, however, if you want some great basics, Joey's the place to go. I just wished they would deliver further south.

    (5)
  • Hillary V.

I thought the staff was nice. The pizza was just okay, but it is in a very convenient place for drunks in search of sustenance after various decisions made on the streets of Downtown St Pete.

    (3)
  • Jules S.

This is the STRANGEST pizza I have ever eaten--in the sense that it went from a 4 star review from when they plunked down the huge, hot, (" Sure LOOKS like NY Style!" ) 18" cheese pie in front of me and the hungry boyfriend---to a disappointing, regretful, stomach-gurgling 2 star review a half hour later by the time we had demolished it. GOOD: the spicy, more than adequate sauce. BAD: We are pretty sure it was one of those "pre-fab" crusts--not hand tossed, though, admittedly, we sat outside and could not see if anyone was actually tossing a fresh ball of dough in the air. Can't really recommend or put down the cheese when the foundation of the crust was a bust. It tasted very "manufactured", which I don't mind in my "fast food" pizza but expect more from a place like this. If you are ravenous, it'll go down really smooth and it started off promising, but halfway through, it was clear that we're still on the lookout for NY Style pizza in the 'Burg. The quest continues! Atmosphere outside was positively bizarre--with every person either passing us or going into the joint looking like a movie extra--just really intentionally strange looking hipsters that was pretty entertaining to watch.

  • Thomas P.

After a night of boozing and @ 3:30am, this place is A-OK! NY-style pizza with thin crust and dripping grease, what more could you ask for? A road and sitting next to strangers stuffing their face with their pies? Also a great place to people watch at this time as you will see!

    (3)
  • Chris W.

Well, I have to say for a small pizza joint smack-dab in the middle of downtown St Pete, these guys are pretty good! While I am a huge fan of woodfired pizza, this is a great, traditional, no frills joint. I've never had a bad pizza from these guys. And the know what EXTRA cheese means! They are always friendly and smiling when I pickup, just great service. I would say, so far for my area, these guys are at the top. This is NOT Dominoes or Pappa's junky pizza...this is a darn good, I need pizza right now-place.

  • Aaron N.

This place used to be my second favorite pizza joint (after Little Italy on 38th Avenue by Publix). I don't know what has happened in the last half a year, but the food has gone from great, authentic family-style Italian to utter garbage. I've noticed that the New Yorkers who used to work there don't seem to anymore, at least not when I go, which is at least twice a week. Not anymore, however. The food has become simply inedible and I have a feeling that the kitchen is not qualified to be making this cuisine. See ya!

  • Charlie K.

Pretty decent slice, especially after leaving the bars. Nothing outstanding but always a good choice for drunken pizza.

    (3)
  • David C.

Joey Brooklyn's ain't bad pizza, even if it's trying too hard to mimic the pizza joints of NYC (to whom pie shop ambiance is natural by definition). The guys behind the counter sling pies with just enough attitude to make you feel like you've earned the slice they hand you. Sure, they sell it to everybody, but that brusque NYC banter incites just enough self doubt for the pizza to feel like a ticket into their crew. The slices themselves illustrate an appropriate balance of cheese and sauce. The crust has a great bottom and a good edge - maybe a bit too greasy, but it adds to the crunch without sacrificing moisture in the dough. Folds well. Price is standard for St. Pete at two fifty a slice, though if you're in Jannus Landing at a concert expect to see it go up. In the grand pecking order of St. Pete Pies, I'd place this second to Gianni's.

Really tasty pizza, BUT the service was just awful!! Purchased the Yelp coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase. Like most people, we purchased utilizing our smart phone. Told the order taker we would be using the coupon. "What coupon?" was his reply. I'll give the fella some cred for calling his boss & then calling me back. We were on vacation & didn't want our yelp coupon to go to waste. When the guy called us back, he said we had to make a copy of the voucher. Nevermind that we had the code. Nope, they insisted on a printed copy. So began our downtown adventure to locate a printer. Finding a Fed-ex, we made our copy & headed over. When we gave him the copy, he relayed that he didn't think we would bring it. So, perhaps we didn't need it after all. But in a spirit of cooperation, we went pretty far out to comply. I think I already stated that we were on vacation & didn't have access to a printer nor did we know St. Petersburg. This place could get four stars if they would just step into the 21st century with their couponing. I thought the codes were to avoid the paper copy. :/

To be honest, the only times I've ever eaten at Joey Brooklyn's I've been three sheets to the wind, walking around the bars in St. Pete. Each time though the cheese pizza slices have always hit the spot. Great for late night.

  • Julia G.

By far the best pizza I have ever had. I have been going here for about 10 years and always love it. I live in North Clearwater and make a daytrip to downtown St. Pete because we love the pizza that much. I have never been to New York before but my mom has and said this is the best pizza comparable to that of New York. The staff is a bunch of laid back super cool guys, one in particular, Tim, has worked there pretty much every time I go and he is super nice. The food is pretty cheap(they have a special if you order before I believe 2pm you can get 2 humongous slices and a soda for $5) and even though I don't live close enough they offer free delivery. I could go on and on about how much I love this pizza but that would be a bit much haha. The only bad thing I have to say is you want to eat the pizza fresh, don't let it get cold and don't reheat it, or else it doesn't taste nearly as well. Other than that this place is a gem :)

The two stars are based solely on our delivery experience. We were killing an hour at the Ale and the Witch before we caught a movie so we grabbed their menu and called them up to order a pizza. They told us it would take them 30 minutes to deliver, we said GREAT! 45 minutes later we started to get antsy since our movie start time was fast approaching. We called them up and they promised it had left the shop already and would be there any minute. 10 minutes later it finally arrived screaming hot. The delivery man blamed the cook and said they weren't even that busy. Mind you the pizza shop is only about 2 blocks away so my guess is that pie hit the oven when we called wondering where it was. Since we only had 5 minutes to huck back our 14" pizza and get over to the Muvico I can't really comment in detail on the quality of the pie itself. It seemed like a lot of cheese to chew through in a hurry, but would probably satisfy any pizza craving. I might order from them again if I've got the craving for a cheesy pizza, but not when I'm in a hurry or very hungry. They can't stand by their delivery times and honestly, how long does it take to make a 14" sausage pizza?

  • Matt K.

I stopped in kinda drunk for a pizza for me and my friends. I asked if they had a thinner crust pizza and they said yes. I ordered a large pepperoni mushroom and spinach. I was happy to hear they delivered, but not that it would take an hour and 15 minutes, so I figured I'd be the hero and wait for it while they walked home. Then I found out it would still be 45 minutes to wait for it! Came back 45 minutes later and still waited another 20 minutes for one pizza with a couple toppings. Looked inside and they forgot one of the toppings after all that, they charged me for all of them, and it wasn't thin crust. Didn't care that much about the crust but don't tell me you have it if you dont. One guy behind the counter looked overwhelmed like they were slammed with orders, but the rest were moving at a snail's pace. Obviously the service was REALLY bad but all things considered, the pizza was pretty good. I would try it again because of that, and the fact that pizza options are limited around here, but I will be prepared to wait. If they screw up the order again after the wait though, it will be the last time I eat there.

its late, your drunk, you need something to absorb all that alcohol... i see people bitching about prices, how you gonna bitch about what you pay for a slice of pizza when you been out drinking $10 mixed drinks all night?... not bad for 3 am, the only time i eat here for the reason everyone else said.. its freaking oily has hell

Boring, not cooked well, mediocre ingredients. Barely a step above Pizza Hut.

  • Thomas W.

Just had it last night and I haven't been there in a LONG time....I remember it being good the last time I went and last night was also pretty damn tasty also. It's a toss up for me between this pizza and Valentino's on 4th's pizza though. And like others said...definitely hit this place up on an off-night to spend the least amount of money. They jack their prices up for First Friday and late-night.

You know when you are in a great NY pizza joint when they have all the wise guys hanging on the wall. That crust was perfect, nice large pizza like it use to be. I don't know if I can eat Pizza Hut again.

  • Forest R.

Sometimes it is the small details that can make a difference. While without a doubt the pizza is wonderful, their attention to proving a water dish and ensuring it was safe for our dog is what push their service over the top for us. Downtown's hidden gem with a dash of NYC taste.

  • Honnah B.

True NY style pizza! Very delicious slices and even with a long line, they were able to serve out our order in a timely manner. They are conveniently located walking distance from all the downtown St. Pete bars and they are open until 3am! We visited Joey's 3 times on our trip to St. Pete! Yes, it's THAT good!

  • Karen D.

This is the one of the best slices I've had in the Tampa Bay Area - thin and crispy with a good balance of sauce and cheese. My kids and I got 3 cheese slices and 3 cans of soda for $10 and change. We'll definitely be back.

Definitely my favorite pizza in St Petersburg. Located in downtown, you order at the counter with a couple outdoor tables you can either eat it there or carry it off and enjoy. Its simple New York style pizza, but the crust is better than anything I've ever had and the five boroughs except for maybe deep into Brooklyn. It's not fancy but but for the best New York cheese pizza in the area, hands down the award goes to Joey Brooklyn's. fast delivery in the St Petersburg downtown area. simple and delicious!

A journey of self discovery through pizza... Brooklyn's is nothing fancy inside but it does have a clean feel to it. The crowd can get kind of wild due to the downtown location but the slice quality doesn't suffer! Always over the top, friendly counter service. Late night offers two slices: cheese or pepperoni. They don't waste a NY minute having drunks loiter with options. The pizza is delectably piping hot and fresh. They also serve calzones, salads, subs, pastas but I'll have to report on that later. Cons: Whole pizza boxes do not fit in a medium size fridge.

Oh. My. Wow!!! Talk about early Christmas gift...wandering through downtown St. Pete and found an American treasure. Guys took care of us quickly, sent us with plenty of plates and cheese and peppers. Then we got our pizza and garlic bread to the hotel. Seriously, if you want pizza this is a must stop. And the GO was d@mn good too. Outstanding. Don't miss out if you are close!

At 2 AM after a night of swilling beer, it's nice to find something quick and easy to chow down before the drive home. The pizza is not cheap at $19 for a cheese pizza, but there's not much else available in the area this late at night. The menu was very limited (slice or whole pie, that's it), but this may be due to the time of day it was. For $4, I got one slice of pepperoni. There were no napkins, no shakers of cheese or pepper flakes to add. But what can you really expect from a walk-up window in downtown this late at night? The food was hot and while there was nothing truly wrong with it other than being rather greasy, it wasn't something to look forward to. It was just convenient at the time. My interaction with the staff was fine. Same as the pie, nothing great, nothing terrible. I'm good with that, though. If the city would allow food trucks, places like this would probably close. Until then, anybody that wants to stay open late has a built-in market for late night grub to help soak up the booze before the drive home.

I wouldn't even rate Joey Brooklyn's if it were allowed. I have given them business at least twice a month for 3 years since I relocated here from California and always gave them the benefit of the doubt. . On more than one occasion the pizza had come soggy--they told me it was because of the steam. Okay, whatever. Even though I have ordered from them many, many times over the years, the driver always seemed to act as if it was his first time to deliver at our place & would call to tell me (the customer) to let the guard at our gate to just let him through & I would always tell him that he isn't allowed to do that--he's a SECURITY GUARD! Most recently, I was out & ordered my pizza via my cel as I was en route home. They told me it would take 45 mins to deliver. I was home within 45 mins. When I stepped in my door, my phone rang & it was the delivery guy. I went downstairs to get my pizza & I asked him how his evening was (polite thing to do, no?). He then began yelling at me telling me that I ordered my pizza 5 mins before they were closing & that he was calling me a 100 times & I wasn't picking up.HUH? I was floored! I am PAYING this guy? I should apologize for ordering before they closed? It's MY fault they were early?? I then called the restaurant to speak to a manager & he asked me what HE should do!! I told him to think about it & get back to me. Never did. Apparently business is THAT good! Well, I want to thank them as now I have tried De Nunzio's. They have the most polite staff, pizza delivery is super fast & the delivery guy actually asked me if I waited too long & he didn't tell me to call the guard at my gate to just let me drive on through! WOW! HOLY CUSTOMER SERVICE BAT MAN! Additionally, the pizza was CRISP (hmmm...no steam problem), the produce they used is from the produce shop next to the restaurant so it's super fresh!!!! Thanks Joey Brooklyn's for forcing me to now be loyal to DE NUNZIO'S!! I have seen the light! Hallelujah! Let's say it again De Nunzios' (good pizza, nice people :)

The pizza is great. Usually you will probably want to get it to go. Best place downtown St. Pete to get by the slice for sure. On a nice day you can sit in one of the few little tables and watch the passersby. But on a wild weekend night grab a slice to soak up some of that booze and watch the freak show!

My requirements for delivery pizza: Crispy crust (not soggy) Decent-sized toppings (no pepperoni 'bits' please) Lots of cheese (what arteries?) Cute delivery personnel (dammit, I didn't see this one...) Joey Brooklyn's met all the requirements - that I could see.

This is by far the best pizza in town. It's got a wonderful crust - really, really good crust and the topping are fresh. They also make delicious meatballs that I always take to my companies holiday party and they are a now a tradition and a big hit with everyone. I haven't ever eaten at the restaurant, there isn't much of a dining room and only a couple tables out on the street. Get your pizza and take it with you or order for delivery. They also sell it by the slice if you are hitting the bars downtown and need a quick bite to eat.

Thanks!

This is the one of the best slices I've had in the Tampa Bay Area - thin and crispy with a good balance of sauce and cheese. My kids and I got 3 cheese slices and 3 cans of soda for $10 and change. We'll definitely be back.

I was craving some good pizza for a few days. This hit the spot. Pretty good pizza. Compared to the pizza in CA this is amazing. I grew up in the Philly area and have family in NYC so I really miss a good slice. If we are in the area again and in the mood I will be going back.

It is exactly what you should expect. A thin crust pizza. A good amount of cheese. Which makes it al little bit greasy but that is just what happens. Service was good, the guy taking our order even notified us that we could get a better deal. At the end of the lunch I'm full so I would say this is a good place.

  • Yana W.

The best slice of pie south of Brooklyn, and north of Ft. Myers (Downtown House of Pizza).

Awful. Overpriced. Rude service. The fact I realized that, at 3 am, after several hours of drinking, would make me absolutely frightened to try this place sober.

    (3)

    (5)

I thought the staff was nice. The pizza was just okay, but it is in a very convenient place for drunks in search of sustenance after various decisions made on the streets of Downtown St Pete.

  • Kal M.

    (5)
  • Blake H.

I went late night and had a slice of pepperoni (only cheese and pepperoni available late night). It was cash only. The man who appeared to be the manager was rude, and the pizza was okay I suppose.

Great!

See ya!

  • Matthew V.

After a night of boozing and @ 3:30am, this place is A-OK! NY-style pizza with thin crust and dripping grease, what more could you ask for? A road and sitting next to strangers stuffing their face with their pies? Also a great place to people watch at this time as you will see!

Thanks!

True NY style pizza! Very delicious slices and even with a long line, they were able to serve out our order in a timely manner. This is the one of the best slices I've had in the Tampa Bay Area - thin and crispy with a good balance of sauce and cheese. My kids and I got 3 cheese slices and 3 cans of soda for $10 and change. We'll definitely be back.

Hot, fast and good pizza. Looks like a take it and go kinda place as there is not a lot of seating options available except for a few spaces at the window and a couple of tables outside. Grabbed a slice for our son and sat outside. Piping hot and greasy pizza. Like, really hot. We had to actually let it cool down for a few minutes before he could eat it. Yum! It looked really good (I stole a bite!). The pepperoni to pizza ratio was perfect.

I was craving some good pizza for a few days. This hit the spot. Pretty good pizza. Compared to the pizza in CA this is amazing. I grew up in the Philly area and have family in NYC so I really miss a good slice. If we are in the area again and in the mood I will be going back.

It is exactly what you should expect. A thin crust pizza. A good amount of cheese. Which makes it al little bit greasy but that is just what happens. Service was good, the guy taking our order even notified us that we could get a better deal. At the end of the lunch I'm full so I would say this is a good place.

I thought the staff was nice. The pizza was just okay, but it is in a very convenient place for drunks in search of sustenance after various decisions made on the streets of Downtown St Pete.

I'd put those pizza slices up against anything I've ever had. Nice feel in the joint. Great lunch special...shocked there wasn't a line out the door!

You know when you are in a great NY pizza joint when they have all the wise guys hanging on the wall. That crust was perfect, nice large pizza like it use to be. I don't know if I can eat Pizza Hut again.

Sometimes it is the small details that can make a difference. While without a doubt the pizza is wonderful, their attention to proving a water dish and ensuring it was safe for our dog is what push their service over the top for us. Downtown's hidden gem with a dash of NYC taste.

See ya!
